The diving tower at the Millstatt lido, which was built in 1930 and is a listed building, became a major attraction in the bathing experience at Lake Millstatt due to its formal and technical design.
The combination of diving platform and water slide was an absolute novelty at the time. The "looseness and playfulness" of the construction seems to breathe southern joie de vivre and is a unique phenomenon in today's otherwise very technoid bathing facilities - not only in Austria, but probably throughout Europe.
Almost 90 years old, built under the most difficult economic conditions, a landmark of architecture and stamp motif, it characterizes the image on the lake.
